The next two troop meeting will focus on - aside from campout planning this Tuesday (3/20/2007) - knots. Yup. Knots. At the last PLC we talked about my daughter’s Girl Scout troop coming in to be taught knots by the Scouts. They are scheduled to visit on the 27th of March, and we’ll do the class up in the Church (the Pack will be in Skelton Hall for their monthly Pack meeting, so we can use the rooms downstairs).

So, this week, review and practice. Next week, class. I know you guys will do a great job, and they are looking forward to it.

Camp Highroad. Theme is Disaster Response. We will be staffing event.

Meet Scout Hut 5:00.

The scenario is that a series of natural disasters have struck the country of Gilwellia, and we are part of the disaster response team. The official camporee newsletter: Gilwell Gazette shows the various skills which we will need to know. There will be a variety of challenges for scouts to solve, including rescuing doctors and supplies from a plane crash, rescuing miners from a caved-in mine, and finding lost and injured hunters. There will also be presentations by various rescue organizations.
