We will be removing leaves and sticks at Montessori School of Alexandria and then creating a small outdoor meeting area with gravel, stone edging, and benches. Even if you are unable to be there for the entire time, please come when you are available. Bring gloves (these are a necessity, we will have some extra pairs but I cannot provide gloves for everyone) and wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. If you have shovels, rakes, or trowels please bring them, we can never have too many tools. Donuts, Pizza and drinks will be provided for everyone.

 Directions to Montessori School of Alexandria 6300 Florence Ln, Alexandria, VA 23303 (from Scout Hut)

1.Start out heading East on Franconia Rd. towards Telegraph Rd.
2. Turn right on Telegraph Rd.
3. Go a short distance (approx. 0.3 miles) and turn Left onto Florence Lane (it forks off from the road) 4. Continue going straight for about half a mile, Montessori will be on your Right at the top of the hill, before you reach Gentle Ln.

Westmoreland State Park.

Meet at the Scout Hut by 8:00 AM. We leave by 9:00.

Cost: $15, includes camping fee and food.

Pack a bag lunch for Saturday.

“Fishing in the saltwater of the Potomac River is available throughout the year. A valid Maryland or Virginia saltwater fishing license is required when fishing from a boat. If fishing from the pier or shore, no fishing license is required. Striped bass, spot and bluefish are among the most common sport fish found in the river. Rock Spring Pond boasts a variety of fish including catfish, bream, bass and crappie. ”

A fishing license is required to fish in the freshwater Rock Spring Pond.
