Come one, come all to the Scout Hut Saturday 7/25 at 2:00 PM. Lenny Riso has bravely accepted the post of QuarterMaster for the troop and has decided that it would be nice if we inventoried and cleaned up the gear before the next campout!

Drinks and food will be provided, come prepared to get dirty.

I’d like to congratulate everybody who participated in Bowman 2009 for a job well done. Everybody did a good job on advancement and merit badges - despite the deluge Sunday, and malfunctioning motorboats. No food poisoning this year, although there did seem to be a stomach bug sneaking around.

Due to summer vacations and such, the next troop meeting will be September 1st. I hope that everybody has a good summer.

We need to schedule our annual planning conference. I’d like to suggest Saturday, August 15, at CUMC. A good planning conference takes all day. Everybody needs to attend, at least if you want to have a say on what our plans are for next year. Parents are encouraged to attend. Please get back to me on the feasibility of this date, or if you would prefer to have it on another day of the week.

We will be scheduling various trips over the summer, including at least one DC trip to the new Capitol Visitor’s Center and a white-water rafting trip. Any other suggestions are welcome. Oh yes, we also need to get in our Washington Nationals game that we didn’t get to before. Dates TBD.

For later in the year, we’ll have our next Court of Honor in September along with a dinner for the congregation. Menu suggestions welcome.
